• heated discussion (more than thirty posts!) over what’s allowed to do with postings to a public mailing list (the FrameMaker discussion list), after I asked quite innocently whether it would be worthwhile to add the list to gmane.org. Turns out the list is already archived at mail-archive.com. Much ado about nothing.
• We had a power cut and my main server (www, file, mail, dhcp, etc.) died a horrible death. Yeah, the one serving these pages. Had to fall back on a previous configuration for the time being.

We had a one-hour powercut last Wednesday (25th of January) which lasted for more than one hour. I was at work, and Florence was with the kids, lighting candles and trying to make a fire because even though we have gas heating, it still requires electricity for the pilot light and the pumps to work.
